I'm just your average, everyday, divorced 38 year old girl -- overweight, tragically unhip,
and trying to make a life for myself. I live with two furry beasts, Dave and Abby, whose
feline mission in life is to choke me with their fur. Nothing special.
Friday morning. Gosh, I'm tired. I didn't get back to my room last night until after 2am and then it was after 3:30am when I fell asleep. I had to pack up the Big, Big Suitcase with all of those lovely (dirty) clothes and then figure out how to get my new treasures back, too, and then I just collapsed into bed and snoozed until 6am. Oh, well, as I always say, I can sleep on the plane.
You know, it's amazing how much I really think about things while I'm away from home. I guess it's something about being out of my normal environment, but I generally get some good changes out of trips such as this one. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail because I need to get into the shower so that I can get going to this morning's meetings, too, so just know that there should be a good post pretty soon. (Well, I'm planning to spend the weekend with TCB, so I don't know how soon it will be, but soon-ish!)
Monday afternoon. One fun week down, one more to go. Last night's reception was great and I got to see people that I haven't seen since last August, so that was nice. Afterwards, though, I headed back to my room and had dinner by myself from the room service menu - ugh! I never do that but I just didn't see anyone at the reception that I thought would want to go out afterwards. I'm going to ruin my Social Diva reputation if I'm not careful.
I don't have another conference session to attend for at least an hour, so I'm thinking about either taking a nap (the current front runner) or trying to find the Junior League cookbook during my free time. I want to get the cookbook at some point, so it's just a question of whether it's now or later in the week. My eyelids are starting to droop, so I think I know who's going to "win".
(By the way, if you'd like to order our League's cookbook just click the link and place your order. It's a beautiful book with great recipes, so I highly recommend it!)
