For everyone else, I had an epiphany today: reading a book while listening to Music Choice: 80's Hits on the TV is the total bomb. I came home from work in the morning because my stomach was not behaving nicely, so I took a nap for about an hour before the first of the telemarketers called and woke me up. (We're in the middle of a major software launch at work, so turning the phone off was not an option.) Once I was awake, I couldn't sleep, so I grabbed one of the books that's been sitting on my bedside table and started reading. Whoa, I'd forgotten what it's like to disappear into another world while lying on the couch drinking hot tea and eating toast. It's so good that I finished that book earlier tonight and started on the second book from the same author...I'm 1/4 of the way through that one, too. I think I know what my weekend's going to look like!

How to blow up your house without really trying
Hi TCB! If you're reading this, I nearly blew up the house again today while trying to make Mac N Cheez. Stupid, stupid, stupid gas stove! Why can't I just turn the stupid thing on without having to stop for some period of time in the "light" position??? At least this time, I figured out my mistake in less than 15 minutes, so that's progress, right? I think the cats might have sustained some temporary brain damage from the gas but I'm not sure that won't turn out to be a good thing in the end.
