Shameless self promotion

Tuesday morning. I've been nominated for an award. The KaysBargains Blogette Award recognizes the best female-oriented blog/journal, and the voting runs through June 25th. Only one vote per person so, if you think my site is worthy, I'd be honored to have your vote.

Now that I've got that out of the way, I think I shall go and take a walk. It's an ugly admission, but I've sunk into a mini depression of late and have been eating terribly plus ignoring the DIFD Challenge. I feel horrible - both emotionally and physically - and am so very ready for a change. I can't believe I'm going to leave on this business trip in this kind of shape. Perhaps, if I'm feeling very brave after my walk (before breakfast), I'll step on the scales and see just how bad things have become. I know I'm up over 212 because that's where I was last week and I've eaten a lot since then. You know, it's really discouraging because I was down to 200.8 the morning I left for New Orleans in March. Two months and I've put on at least 12 pounds - pathetic.

I, of course, will be voting for you!

I am right there with you on the mini-depression. I know I'm at a crossroads and I can continue the losing battle, or actually make a decision to take an active role in my road to becoming healthy.

A local church had the following saying on their sign last week -- "You can't slide uphill." As long as you are working toward your goal, even if it's just resting before moving on, you aren't backsliding. Yes, a 12 pound gain isn't what you were looking for, but if you are like me, self-sabatoge is one of the things we do best. Look at this period straight in the eye, give it the bird and move forward.

Denise! Chin up! Stop pondering over March and what you weighed then b/c you cannot go back and change it.

It is today you need to be concerned about. Work today to the best you can.
Good luck getting back on track! I wish I could give you an easy answer for finding your motivation again.

Reminds me of that advice about not being able to take weight off quickly because supposedly it took a while to take off. Well I can tell you I've put on 10 lbs at a time easy within just a few weeks.

Don't sweat the small mistakes. Gaining back weight isn't fun, but I'm sure overall you are healthier now than you were last time. I hope a little exercise eases your mood, and wish you continued success.

Good luck! And remember, it's never the wrong time to say, "things will change, starting now!"

Please stop weighing exactly the same as I do all the time! Copycat!

We'll get there...

I understand what you are going through. I've been in a funk, too, lately. However, we have to remember to take one day at a time. The weight that we gained didn't get there overnight so it's not going to come off overnight. I was on a chips and dip thing for about a week and I gained 10 lbs. I've been too afraid to weigh myself, since.

I've got your bad eating habit beat by a mile. I had a funnelcake for lunch today. I bet you can't top that ;~)

*hugs* You hang in there sweetie!

Not that you'd find any consulation in my misery, but you should know that I can (and have!) put on 12 pounds in 3 weeks before (not pregnancy related, I'm sorry to state), so, you know, there's a bright side to every situation. At least it took you almost 2 months to do it! Buck up, little camper, you're going to kick this thing's @ss, no matter how long it takes. xoxo Mia

I know this is easier said than done, but please try not to be too hard on yourself. I know from experience that we are our own worst critic. You've had a lot to deal with in the past few weeks. Try to be kind to yourself. This too shall pass.

You got my vote, sweetie. Just to be nominated in an honor. I'm pretty sure I'll never be nominated for anything so be proud of yourself. I am!

Hi! As you see, I found your site much later than your original post, but hopefully you receive notices by email.

I'm sorry you felt discouraged. Happens to us all, but still a bummer.
I see a comment above me re: "63 days". I read her. Gripping. (Besides no one should ever ever ever have to endure what she survived!)
Take care
